It’s been a long semester — feels like it started in January — and I’ve had to put my stationery love on hold while I got things wrapped up. What kept me going was looking forward to swatching and experimenting with the inks I’d received for Inkvent. Today I got to take out my Col-or-ring ink testing book and my various swatching supplies and start playing with the surprise inks.
About Inkvent – it’s an ink exchange in The Pen Addict Slack community where each of us sends the other five ink samples to open each day, like an Advent calendar, but with ink. I sent out samples to two people so got two sets of samples. Both packages came with much holiday cheer. (I confess that when I got my first box, I realized I hadn’t sent mine properly so I sent a second set of inks to my recipients.)
For Day 1 of Inkvent I first opened a lovely warm brown ink. It’s Phidon Pens 10th Anniversary ink, “Campfire,” by Robert Oster. The second ink was a surprisingly bright green neon one called “Peace Out” by Kala Ink.
I’ve also gone on to swatch the surprisingly large number of inks I’ve somehow purchased in the last few months. All in all, a lovely day.
